Hunger In Alaska

No one should go hungry, yet nearly 100,000 Alaskans – including children, seniors, veterans, and the working poor – can’t always be sure of their next meal. Whether it is an unexpected loss of a job, unexpected medical bills, or shrinking pension, many of our neighbors find they don’t have enough for groceries and other basic necessities.

The 2023 Bear Valley Elementary School Student Council Food Drive raised 5,728 pounds of food for Food Bank of Alaska.
