2017 Anchorage Neighborhood Gift

Anchorage Neighborhood GIFT was a huge success! The Salvation Army, Marine Toys for Tots and Food Bank of Alaska, with amazing volunteers, donors, and staff distributed toys and meals to more than 3,500 families. We're so proud of all the work that made this event possible.

KTVA's story on a Puerto Rican family who had to move to Alaska after Hurricane Maria destroyed their neighborhood exemplified the power of this event.

Spending Christmas in Alaska wasn't the plan for Randall Lopez and his family of five.

But, after Hurricane Maria ravaged their neighborhood in Puerto Rico, they found themselves heading north to stay with family in Anchorage.

While Lopez applies for jobs, they considered the cost of buying Christmas presents for their three kids. They were happy to learn about the Neighborhood GIFT program.
