SNAP COVID-19 Resources

The State of Alaska has made changes to both the eligibility requirements of the SNAP Program and to the process of submitting and processing SNAP Applications. Please check the SNAP Page for the most up to date info on the SNAP program in Alaska, as well as links to useful documents and resources.

Emergency Food Box Distribution

Through the end of September, we will be distributing boxes of The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) at the Tikahtnu Commons (old Sam’s Club parking lot). This distribution will take place every Monday and Thursday from 5-7pm. Please DO NOT show up before 4:30pm. 
Registration required.

  • Mondays & Thursdays from 5-7pm.
  • Drive-through distribution.
  • One box per family, per week
  • Additional box of produce/dairy, milk, and taco meat provided as well

Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) – Anchorage

Find fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and other fresh food at no cost at Food Bank of Alaska’s Mobile Food Pantry. There are 20 mobile pantries each month in eight different Anchorage neighborhoods. Click here for locations and schedule.

Children’s Lunchbox Distribution

The Children’s Lunchbox in Anchorage will be providing food boxes at 4 distribution sites. The boxes will contain 2 suppers for each child present – one for the day of service and one for the following day. Children must be present to qualify. These will be provided as grab-and-go boxes in a drive-thru line. Families will also be able to receive Pantry Boxes of shelf-stable meals for a family of 4 while supplies last. 

  1. Lighthouse Fellowship, Mon, Wed, Fri, 3–3:45 p.m
  2. Loussac Place, Mon, Wed, Fri, 3–3:45 pm
  3. Spenard Rec Center, Mon, Wed, Fri, 3–3:45 pm
  4. Fairview Rec Center, Mon, Wed, Fri, 4–4:45 pm

Anchorage School District – Meal Service

ASD will continue to provide meal service to students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) participating schools Meals may be picked up by parents from a distribution center, or ordered for delivery by bus through STUber Eats.

Meals will be distributed twice per week as follows:

 

  • Mondays: Breakfast and Lunch meals are distributed for Tuesdays and Wednesdays 
  • Wednesdays: Breakfast and Lunch meals are distributed for ThursdaysFridays, and Mondays.
